The Full Story
I’m a furniture artist - that loves what she does to old abandoned furniture.
It feels amazing to say this as I’ve spent most of my life working in county government to pay the bills and painting on the side to feed my soul. I share my life with my partner Richelle, our amazing daughter Brenna and our sweet pack of pibbles! My business Ridley’s Wreckage is named after one of our dogs. Ridley is a gorgeous black and white bully that was pulled from a county shelter 8 years ago (all of our pups are shelter dogs ️). He has changed and influenced my life in more ways than I could ever imagine, so I knew this new venture of mine must include him! I’m quirky and spirited, I love my family (2 and 4 legged) and am fiercely protective of them. I’m in my mid 40’s embarking on a brand new career (and I’m terrified! I say this with excitement!!). I’ve spent my life working with shelter animals, the ones that are thrown away, abused and left behind. Trying to make a positive difference in their lives, giving them the second chances they deserve. Now it’s time for me to slow down and pursue a less stressful work environment, start creating a life I don’t need a vacation from. I’m super excited to be my own boss! I’m following a life long passion and realized that I’m happiest when I’m being creative. My late father was a master craftsman, he spent his life bringing back the old and making it once again beautiful. When I paint I feel his presence helping me to breathe new life back into the forgotten and dilapidated. When I’m not painting I’m exploring abandoned houses, buildings with my partner Richelle. Richelle has her own YouTube channel (Richelle G. - YouTubehttps://www.youtube.com › RichelleG She loves all things nature/urban exploring, paranormal investigations. We have so much fun together, laughing our way through the day. Together we both are starting on these new adventures of being our own bosses, making some big career life changes and really excited for the future.
To salvage furniture and fill my heart with joy.
Each piece of furniture has its own personality. I will make sure to surface that in my restoration process.
